Experience genuine 1950's living at 'Middle Hut'. A place to ditch screens and enjoy a dose of the outdoors.
Sit on the porch and soak up the view, or walk down to the lake to skim stones...even a night-time visit to the bathroom is a 'walk under the stars'!
This cosy, clean and comfortable farm cottage was used as shearers quarters for many years and still retains the original characteristics and decor despite being refurbished for guests - take a look through the photos and see for yourself!
In summer sit on the sunny porch and enjoy the vista up Lake Tekapo to the Godley Valley. In winter, after a day at nearby Roundhill Skifield, crank up the fire to be warm and cosy in no time!
The cooking facilities are basic but adequate with a small fridge and oven. Alternatively, Tekapo, with its many restaurants, is just 7km along the road.
The shower and toilet are in a separate building, 'the outhouse', so make sure you bring your head lamps.
Staying in this delightful cottage is a wonderful experience and a true holiday - especially for children!

- Fantastic place, good lake view from the house. The house is very old style, great experience to spend night here, quite quiet. Everything in here is clean and tidy.

- The most important thing to note is the view. BREATHTAKING. Spent both nights drinking wine on the veranda and just watching the sunset. Even get to see Mt Cook's peak from here. Definitely worth driving out of Tekapo to this lovely spot.
