Please read the following carefully before continuing with your booking:
Confirmation:
You will be asked for your credit card details on the next screen, but this is not charged, it is simply to secure your booking. We will then send confirmation of your booking, including directions, key and payment instructions.
Cancellations/Alterations:
Please be assured if at any time NZ increases Covid-19 restrictions, we will revise our cancellation policy for affected bookings as see fit.
We'd appreciate as much notice as possible for any cancellations or alterations to your booking.
If you alter or cancel your booking up to 14 days prior to your arrival date, you will not be charged. If you alter or cancel within 14 days of your arrival date you will be charged the total price of your original reservation.
As Tekapo is an alpine environment, please ensure that your travel insurance covers you for unexpected events resulting in last minute cancellations, including adverse weather conditions. Discover Tekapo accepts no responsibility for weather conditions or road closures.
Payments:
Full payment can be credited to our account at least 3 days prior to your arrival. Alternatively, you may pay by cash or card (Eftpos, Visa, Mastercard) on arrival. Please note, payment by credit card incurs a 2.75% fee. We Please note that if you are arriving outside office hours and we have not already received payment, we will charge your credit card in full, including the surcharge.
Check in/out:
Unless agreed otherwise, check-in is between 2-6 pm at our office, in the Godley Hotel on the main highway in the village centre. If you will be arriving after our office hours, please advise us at least a day before to arrange alternative key pick up.
Check-out is by 10 am. Keys must be returned to our office unless other arrangements are made. A late check-out may be accepted dependent on housekeeping scheduling, and could incur a fee. Please ask.
Guest numbers:
Rates are based on the number of people staying in the house for each night of your booking, including children. If the number of people staying alters on any night from what was paid, you must advise us promptly and pay the relevant additional charge per person.
Minimum stay:
Minimum night limitations may apply to event weekends, long weekends due to statutory holidays, or school holiday periods. One night stay requests may be accepted depending on availability, and would incur a surcharge.
Cleaning & linen:
The rate includes full linen for the number of guests booked, and our team will clean the house after your departure. We ask that you leave it tidy and do your dishes or start the dishwasher on your departure. An extra fee will be charged if the house is left in an excessive mess or extra beds used. A reminder that all our houses are non-smoking throughout.
Noise, parties, damage & excessive cleaning:
You are liable for any excessive cleaning charges or damage to the property (including its contents) incurred during your stay, whether you or your guests directly or indirectly cause it. You must report any damage immediately to us, including any spills. You must not attempt to remedy any such damage. We may inspect the property during or after your stay to ascertain what (if any) damage has been caused. Any costs incurred will be debited to your credit card and you will be advised of the details of the charges by email within 3 days of the debit.
Dogs:
By prior agreement only, a number of our houses welcome well-behaved, house trained dogs. Please ask about your pet when you book, otherwise they may be refused on arrival. Please see our dog policy for further details.
