Lake Tekapo is renowned for its incredible night sky (the largest Dark Sky Reserve in the world) & stunning scenery.  The area offers a wide range of activities throughout the year, including star-gazing, hot pools, skiing, walking, photography, horse trekking, scenic mountain flights. Located on the main highway halfway between the cities of Christchurch & Queenstown, Tekapo is an ideal base for exploring the legendary Mackenzie district, including Aoraki Mount Cook (1 1/4 hour drive) and ski areas Roundhill, Mt Dobson & Ohau Snow Fields.

• from $285 for 1-2 guests, depending on season
