This lovely, quiet older style cottage is tucked away on Pioneer Drive, alongside Lake Tekapo. It is down a long driveway so has lots of privacy while still retaining a corridor view of the turquoise blue waters of Lake Tekapo from the sunny garden. The living area is spacious and joins the open plan kitchen/dining with a log fire and heat pump. The kitchen is very well equipped with all you need to prepare your own meals and a dishwasher to help the clean up. There are two comfortable queen bedrooms, and books or TV to while away any spare time.
A short walk out the driveway brings you to the lakefront, with panoramic views of Lake Tekapo and the surrounding mountains. Wander the lakefront walking track for a few minutes to reach the Church of the Good Shepherd and sheepdog memorial, then over the Tekapo footbridge (perfect location for photos!) to the village centre eateries & shops.
By prior agreement Beech Cottage also welcomes well-behaved dogs, so your whole family can enjoy the break (not fenced). See our FAQ’s for more details. Tekapo’s dog park is within walking distance, ideal for your morning walk before going out and exploring for the day.

It is the perfection location for walking into town, walking to the Lake and the Church. Awesome communication from the Discover Tekapo team, letting us know about road conditions and very flexible about moving our reservation around if needed. The cottage was warm and felt like home.

Loved the location so close to the lake. Walkway took us right round to shops and playground. Cottage was family friendly and we could relax with our grandchild. She loved seeing bunnies on the front lawn.

We loved staying at Beech Cottage – it was clean, spacious and private. It was awesome to have our fur baby with us too. Proximity to the lake, regional park and town made this a perfect base.

Cute spacious cottage, great location. We enjoyed wandering out to the lake at night to see the stars and being able to walk to dinner and the shops. Friendly and welcoming hosts, too.

Absolutely great cottage, nice and private and a quick walk to the lake. I was able to do night time photography right by the house and get some amazing pictures as well, big recommend if that is your fancy.

We loved our stay in the Beech Cottage. The location was wonderful and the home was perfect for a young family with plenty of space for us all to live and play in. The fire was lovely and there was a great stock of wood for us to use.
