Beech Cottage

Beech Cottage is a charming, quiet older-style cottage tucked away on Pioneer Drive, right beside beautiful Lake Tekapo. Set down a long driveway, it enjoys a wonderful sense of privacy & peace, while still offering a lovely glimpse through the garden to the turquoise-blue waters of the lake.

The living area flows into the kitchen and dining space, creating a warm and welcoming place to relax and spend time together. A log fire & heat pump keep the cottage comfortable throughout the year, while the well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. Two comfortable queen bedrooms makes it ideal for couples, friends or a small family. When you’re ready to slow down, curl up with one of the books provided or enjoy a quiet evening watching TV.

Step out onto the garden and soak up the sunshine, or wander down the driveway and you’ll reach the lakefront within just a few minutes. Continue along the lakefront walking track to the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd and Sheepdog Memorial. Cross the Tekapo footbridge – a beautiful spot for photographs – and you’ll soon arrive in the village centre, with its selection of cafés, restaurants and shops. By prior agreement this pet-friendly accommodation also welcomes well-behaved dogs (not fenced) – see our FAQ’s for more details.

It is the perfection location for walking into town, walking to the Lake and the Church. Awesome communication from the Discover Tekapo team, letting us know about road conditions and very flexible about moving our reservation around if needed. The cottage was warm and felt like home.
