Hazel’s House
A warm, spacious and wonderfully set-up base for enjoying the beauty of Lake Tekapo and the wider Mackenzie Country. Thoughtfully designed with sustainability in mind, features include New Zealand wool carpet, creating a welcoming home with a strong connection to the local environment. The generous living area provides plenty of space to relax together, with a cosy log burner making it especially inviting after a day exploring the mountains or enjoying the nearby ski fields. Keen skiers will also love the heated drying cupboard so your ski boots & gear can dry overnight ready to hit the slopes again!
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals to share around the dining table, or head into the village and enjoy one of Tekapo’s cafés or restaurants, just a 10-minute walk away. The home’s multiple bathroom spaces are particularly convenient for groups, with a generous main bathroom as well as separate second shower and toilet.
Set on a quiet cul-de-sac and backing onto a reserve, Hazel’s House enjoys gorgeous mountain views to both the east and west. By prior agreement, well-behaved dogs are welcome, so your whole family can enjoy the break (not fenced) – see our FAQ’s for more details. With its spacious living areas, thoughtful sustainable touches, ski-friendly facilities and peaceful setting, this is a wonderful place to settle in, slow down and enjoy everything Lake Tekapo has to offer.

The house is spacious for us 5 especially the living room and kitchen area. It would be great if they have a dryer. Heaters in every bedroom work very well. The nespresso machine is a plus. The view from the house is stunning. Walkable to the lake. The sky at night is unbeatable. We can stay out a whole night only to see the Milky Way.
