This house was exactly as advertised! The views were stunning. Although it’s in town, the area was so quiet we felt like we were in a country cabin. The kids loved the ping-pong table and the kitchen was clean and had all the necessities. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to our friends/family visiting Tekapo.

Retro Inn 1 was amazing from the moment we opened the door. Rustic and homely and sounds only an old school wooden home can make, the fire, the view, the snow! We had everything we needed without needing to leave the house and enjoyed reading in front of the fire as well as playing a few games and heading downstairs from a friendly game of ping pong. Easy walk into the village and great views along the way. Will definitely be back again.

One of the best places we’ve stayed at! Just had everything you need, it was all thought of and provided. Felt instantly at home straight away. It’s really cosy and has character. The house does creak and move but that’s normal for one like this. We liked it. 100% would come back. Nice to have an office to get the key from and chat to if need be. Super easy and friendly. Great location can walk anywhere. Epic views. Heaps of dry wood and a great woodburner it got going real easy. Can’t wait to come back!
